THE MUMMY!!!

Here are my bandages! For y'all that don't know, we had a canning accident and I had a pot of boiling water accidentally dumped on my legs. It happened so fast and the next thing I knew, my mom was stripping me down and throwing me into the shower. I think the scariest part was when I looked down and my skin was falling off. Gross huh? I heard the most bloodcurdling, death-at-your-doorstep sound. It finally registered that that sound was coming from me. A screech that will haunt me. The ambulance finally got there. Now, I would like everyone to know that I am a modest person, and normally, having my tush on display for what felt like the whole world would be mortifying. But, the pain was so intense I didn't care. So now, I am well prepared for having a baby. I think people say that to comfort me, because I've heard that a lot in the past week. Little do they know! My uncle gave me a blessing at the hospital. I am so grateful for that. I know I wouldn't be doing near as well as I am if not for that. So now I lay on the couch, with a drugged smile. We are weening me off of the heavy meds (yay!). I really don't understand how people can take those...yuck. The doctor says that it is healing very well. They had to tear off the skin last time because my blister popped. It was so gross and they had to hurry and give me a shot for the pain. I never knew I was scared of needles until last year..and now I'm terrified! Anyways, moral of the story....don't wish too hard for things! I really did not want to go to school, and look! I don't have to!! The Lord has a funny sense of humor, don't ya think? Also, I was told by a certain young man not to shave my legs or shower for two years...little did he know! Two weeks isn't the same but that's long enough for me! I have been really blessed through out all of this. People have been so kind. And I've had 5-star assistance from my family and aunts. You guys are so great! Thank you so much for all that have helped me! You're the best!!!
(The top picture is of one of the blisters on my calf. It has since popped and been replaced by several others covering my whole calf. They keep multiplying by insane numbers! Gross)

Brittin that is just so sad. I don't think this is what tate meant. But I bet after not shaving your legs or showering for two weeks it would be hard for him to come close to you. Can wait to see you in a few weeks I love you

I'm so glad to hear that you are doing better. If your getting weined off of the pain drugs, that's a good thing. I know that it still has got to hurt though. What a scarry experience. Do you think you'll have a scar? If so you have a good story to go along with it. Take care and I'm really glad your getting well :)

Brittin!! I'm glad you responded on my Blog...and I'm even more glad that I know you're doing better! It's just crazy because I've been really wondering how you were doing and didn't know many details nor did I know of whom to call without sounding totally nosy! I still feel like your Young Women's leader and so I'm concerned! But SOOO glad to hear you're on your way to recovery! Keep your chin up...we have trials to make us stronger...I love ya, Girl!
